Dear community members,
Heat waves are particularly critical and complex periods to manage for our industry. Very high temperatures accelerate the degradation of the material we process in our facilities, increasing the complexity of operations. Plant start-up, robustness and efficiency of operations are therefore critical during long periods of extreme heat.
As mentioned before, the Monday start-up of our activities is essential to the smooth running of our operations. That is why we reviewed our maintenance and start-up processes last year. We have further strengthened these processes this year by ensuring collaboration between our process engineers and our operations teams for every start-up.
The start-up of our plant this week went well, and we were able to get through this first heat wave of the season.
We plan to shutdown our operations as scheduled during the day tomorrow.
