Dear community members,

As you probably know, Sanimax’s mission is to transform food byproducts and thus contribute to the circular economy of Québec and the agri-food chain. In fact, Sanimax is a key partner of restaurant owners throughout Québec.

Our company works with restaurants to collect various organic materials that cannot be consumed, such as used cooking oils and non-edible animal waste. Recently, an article (in French only) published on Radio-Canada’s platform, Mordu, shows the example of a Québec City restaurant that uses Sanimax’s services, which allows it to further reduce its environmental footprint and thus participate in the circular economy.

As for our operations, we can confirm that the processing of the organic material received is running as usual at our Montreal plant. At this rate, we expect to progressively shut down the plant during the day on Saturday, to completely close our production lines at the end of that evening.

Please note that the frequency of our newsletters will be reduced over the next few months, as Summer has come to an end. We will continue to communicate with you on a timely basis throughout the year to provide you with all relevant information.

Update: Please note that the May 14 publication has been updated to include the name of the citizen-member elected in Spring 2021 in the East sector, Mr. Michel Johnson. Visit this publication to find the names of the citizen-members of the different sectors of RDP-PAT.
